From On the River
| |
On my Derive, I noticed a lot of spider webs. They were everywhere—under stairs, between railings, off pathways, everywhere. I also noticed a lot of fishing line and netting near the banks of the river under the rocks. As a response, I used the fishing line material to create a spider web. After several failed attempts, I discovered that spider webs are actually very difficult to create.
The final product is a bit messy but blends in well with its surroundings. I chose to place my Inside-Out project in a small alcove within a brick wall underneath the Pearl Street Bridge. I’m happy with the final result because of how well the artificial web blends into the natural environment.
