From On the River
Mess Hall is an experimental cultural center located in Rogers Park, Chicago. Through the generosity of local property owner Al Goldberg, the space was offered to Temporary Services for $1/month rent. The group agreed and asked others to join in as "key holders." The key holders consist of other Chicago artists/cultural workers.
Mess Hall provides a place for the public to share ideas, skills, stories, and materials. Mess Hall is more interested in exchanging ideas rather than money.
