From On the River
The objective of the River Songs Project is to gather as many songs about rivers as we can find, and to then create a organized playlist with them. Because the river is such a complex and iconic symbol to the city of Grand Rapids, it is no surprise that other rivers hold the same amount of meaning. Some of the songs collected so far are from our civic studio members collections. Feel free to add any songs from your collection- they can be long, short, complex, simple, remakes, etc- as long as they somehow relate to rivers.
How to add a page for River Songs project: Click on the “Add Content” link under the ‘contribute’ category in the right hand column. It will ask you to name the page you want to create. Type in a title ex. “Sandra's River Songs” or “River songs from the 70s”. After typing in a name, it will bring you to an edit content page where you can type in the songs title and the artist/band performing it. Mp3s and other similar files can not be downloaded to the wiki. Mp3s, however, can be added the civic studio's playlist on http://listen.grooveshark.com/. Log in with our username: civicstudio and password:cslook. Music files can be uploaded by clicking on the "Add Music" button.
